About Therma · Founded 2024

Built from a personal problem.

For years, I tracked everything except the thing that mattered most. How I actually felt. This is the story of why that finally changed, and why the result is a tool built for people who already track their HRV, their sleep, and their work.

The founder

I am Omar Rantisi. Detroit-born, Dubai-raised, UCLA dual degree in math and sociology. I have spent the last decade living inside contradictions. A touring DJ on a schedule therapists warn against, a competitive bodybuilder who cared about numbers most people ignore, a founder who kept building because he did not know how to stop. The thread connecting all of it is that I was tracking everything except the only variable that determined whether any of it would last.

Why I built Therma

I had an Oura ring. I had Apple Health. I had an HRV chest strap I wore during workouts. I had a spreadsheet of every meal I ate for three years. And I still could not tell you why some Tuesdays I woke up steady and other Tuesdays I woke up unraveled.

The data was complete. The narrative was missing.

Every journaling app I tried failed in the same way. A blank page that stared back at me. Every mood tracker logged data I never returned to. Every AI chatbot felt like talking to a wall that was very confident it understood me, but did not.

Therma is the tool I wished existed. A 60-second daily check-in. One precise AI question that adapts to what I said yesterday. A weekly insight reveal that connects my mood to the data I already track. Not therapy. Not a diary. A feedback loop that finally makes sense of the noise.

What Therma is. And is not.

Therma is a self-awareness tool for people who already track their health and want the missing emotional layer. It connects to Oura, Apple Health, Whoop, and the wearables you already use. It uses AI to surface patterns you would never catch on your own. It produces a weekly insight that turns data into narrative.

Therma is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional care. It is not a chatbot pretending to be your friend. It is not a gamified habit tracker with a virtual pet. It is not a journaling app that gives you a blank page and hopes for the best.

It is a quieter place to check in. Built for people who want to understand themselves the way they already understand their training, their sleep, and their work.

What we believe

  • Steady beats dramatic. Small, consistent reflection compounds faster than the rare deep dive.
  • You did not fail at journaling. The apps failed you.
  • Privacy is the foundation, not a feature. Your entries are end to end encrypted and yours alone.
  • Naming what you feel reduces its hold on you. The right word is a tool.
  • AI should reflect, not advise. The right question moves more than a hundred answers.
